Holding the post of communications manager at Ascutney Mountain Resort, Kim Jackson:

• Pitched, planned and implemented an
Eastern Ski Writers’ FAM trip, which included 100+ writers, editors and guests. As a result, Ascutney garnered continued story placement throughout Northeast publications during the 2000/2001 season.
• Created awareness of Ascutney’s new high speed quad chairlift by revamping the entire communications and media relations efforts with new press kit (prior kit had been used continually for five years), created an online media presence on ascutney.com, generated weekly press releases, hosted writers at the resort, fielded media calls, etc.

• Planned, attended and assisted with implementation of a core FAM trip for 8-10 editors/writers from New York City to
Jay Peak Resort.
• Researched, developed, wrote and edited press kits for
Bear Creek Mountain Club, Galley Food Service/Healthy Harvest at Home, Killington Snowmobile Tours, Vermont Holiday Festival, Vermont Orthopaedic Clinic and others.
• Built targeted media lists for press kit and press release distribution; lists were created based on clients’ needs including: travel & tourism, family, outdoor adventure, beauty & fashion, wedding & conference, etc.
• Wrote supporting editorial and copy for clients’ web site, keeping company message and branding consistent throughout all marketing mediums – pr, web, collateral, etc.
• Built relationships with writers and editors allowing clients to stay top of mind for story ideas.
• Built relationships with publications in order to act as “ghost” writer for advertorial-type stories, using clients as resources in these articles.
